About Mariela
Mariela C. D’Alessio is the founder and owner of D’Alessio Law, LLC, a boutique law firm dedicated to helping individuals, families, and business owners preserve their assets, protect their loved ones, and plan confidently for the future. Her practice is concentrated in estate planning, trust and estate administration, guardianships, and related transactional matters.
Ms. D’Alessio regularly works with clients to develop personalized and comprehensive estate plans tailored to their unique goals, family dynamics, and financial circumstances. Her estate planning practice includes the preparation of Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Last Wills and Testaments, Living Wills, Medical and Financial Powers of Attorney, beneficiary designation planning, asset protection strategies, business succession planning including Professional Last Wills and Testaments.
In addition to helping clients establish their estate plans, Ms. D’Alessio is frequently retained to guide families through the administration of estates and trusts following the loss of a loved one. She assists Personal Representatives, Trustees, and beneficiaries with probate proceedings, trust administration, fiduciary responsibilities, and the resolution of complex estate and trust matters. She also represents clients in guardianship proceedings involving minors and disabled adults.
Beyond her estates and trusts practice, Ms. D’Alessio assists clients with a variety of transactional matters, including business formation, the review and drafting of business contracts and agreements, and real estate transactions such as deeds, contracts of sale, and commercial and residential leases.
Known for her practical guidance and compassionate approach, Ms. D’Alessio strives to make complex legal matters understandable and manageable for her clients while providing personalized service tailored to each family’s needs.
Ms. D’Alessio has been a resident of Harford County since 1989, when her family relocated from New York. Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young son and staying active with her family. She is an avid hockey fan and enjoys reading and cooking for family and friends.

Prior to founding D’Alessio Law, Ms. D’Alessio initially worked as an associate attorney and then as a partner at Smith, Gildea & Schmidt, LLC. Ms. D’Alessio started her legal career upon graduation from Villa Julie College, now known as Stevenson University, as a paralegal and then as an associate attorney upon graduating from Florida Coastal School of Law and successfully passing the bar exam at Bodie Law. While in law School, Ms. D’Alessio served as a judicial intern to Judge Peter O. Dearing (now retired), Probate Division of the Fourth Circuit of Duval County, Florida.
